Mission: The Christian, non-denominational, discipleship training program is our primary objective at Casa de Maná campus. The completed campus accommodates 16-20 selected interns and will include a structured syllabus of Biblical teaching and prayer.
On-the-job training will happen both on-site, as well as with our partnering ministries in the area. The setting is intimate, and the experience will be team-oriented.
Program Timelines: Programs will be offered for summer sessions, semesters, and full year. Interns can expect to be placed in positions that best accommodate the individual’s skills and desires.
Serving Opportunities: Some of the opportunities will include serving at orphanages, children’s ministry, medical ministry, poverty ministry, home-build ministry, migrant ministry, food and guest services, maintenance, and many others. Interns will split their time serving off campus at other ministries and then returning to share with the other Casa de Maná residents. Interaction with numerous ministries and members of the community provides a healthy mix to better build each other up as everyone deals with the many challenges, struggles, and blessings of serving in ministry.
Teaching: Teaching will be provided primarily by elders, but the interns will also be given opportunities to teach and build leadership skills. Missionaries and spiritual leaders from around the world will be invited to teach and share their experiences to provide more awareness to our interns of what opportunities are available and what those positions entail.
Accommodations: Accommodations are similar to college dormitories with a single building housing four individuals, divided in two with two people to a bathroom. Meals are served at the central lodge and eaten together.
Regular Schedule: A routine week will include five days of full-time service, with Saturday as a personal day and Sunday for worship. There are numerous churches to attend on Sundays.
Holidays: Dates for varying holidays will be determined at the beginning of the program. Although there are no set rules related to receiving time off for travel or contingencies, the leadership will prioritize ensuring that the commitments each individual makes to their respective ministry are fulfilled.
Excursions: Interns can expect a number of excursions to be scheduled during their time at Casa de Maná. These many short trips are intended to allow the individuals the opportunity to get to know one another better and to take breaks from the routine of serving. Some of the opportunities will include kayaking, surfing, hiking, off-road vehicle riding, whale watching, and cultural trips.
Costs: Individual’s who are accepted into the internship program should normally expect to receive full funding for living expenses. This includes lodging, utilities, and food. Transportation is covered by the individual.
Post-Graduation Opportunities: The programs are intended to build up and equip the next generation of disciples. Regardless of where the Lord leads you upon completion of our programs, the experience and training will better prepare you in your next endeavor. Some will choose to stay on in northern Baja, some will return home, and others will go off to more distant locations. It is our hope that our interns will dedicate themselves to a life of service with a desire to fulfill the great commission regardless of where that may be.
Long-Term Serving:
Opportunities to serve long-term will be available at Casa de Maná. Long-term residents can serve roles on site such as project director and caretaker. Long-term residents can also be engaged in full-time service with other ministries. Regardless of where each long-term resident serves, they will be a part of the family and be able to participate in the community-based areas of fellowship, prayer, teaching and breaking bread. Living at Casa de Maná is an intimate experience designed for those who wish to share their lives with other believers as they serve. Please contact us for more details.
