Strong Tower Ministries began its annual Operation Christmas program during the 2010 Christmas season and quickly became one of our most popular donor and volunteer times of the year. In addition to year-round service opportunities, each year we come alongside either an existing Mexico ministry or church partner to plan and facilitate Christmas outreach events.
Each event highlights a time of worship, a Christmas message, food service, children’s crafts and games, haircuts, medical screenings, prayer, grocery dispensaries, etc. The local ministry/church and its volunteers promote the events with Strong Tower Ministries' volunteers providing event logistical support, event funding, gift and food donations, and no cost professional services.
The overall goals of Operation Christmas is to: (1) serve the local ministries in Baja as they seek to reach out to their communities with the message of Christmas and an invitation to join a church family (2) provide a serving opportunity for those on both sides of the border to share with others the Love and Hope found in Jesus Christ.
Operation Christmas is a great opportunity for companies, youth groups (seeking community service), and small groups to serve together by participating in some or all of these areas:
- New clothing/shoe/cold weather donations
- New household item donations
- Stocking Stuffing
- Baked Goods
- Transportation from CA to Baja, MX
- Participating in Serving Trips to Christmas outreach events
- Monetary donations towards event costs
Planning group projects and donation efforts for Operation Christmas are ongoing throughout the year with the actual outreach events happening during the month of December.
